 b) Applied approach to facilitate change.

Abstract

Coaching is an effective mean for change and growth.

"The aim of coaching is sustained cognitive, emotional and behavioral changes that facilitate goal attainment and performance enhancement either in career one's work or in one's personal life" (Douglas& McCauley, 1999).

"Systems are made up of a set of components that work together for the overall objective of the whole (output).

Systems thinking is a way of thinking more effectively about any system: it's purposes; it's environment; it's components. Systems thinking is a framework and way to make sense out of life's complexities since all living things are systems". (Stephen G. Haines, 2000)

A Systems Coaching model is based on the systems thinking theories.

The personal journey of every human being toward change is based on his dominant strengths and is moving through four main system stages:

  1. Creating desired future- Output
  2. Well defining success measurements including breakthrough goal-Feedback loop.
  3. Well defined long term action plan- Inputs into actions.
  4. Navigation and successful implementation-Throughput/actions

*Special Systems Coaching toolnavigation to desire future - will be introduced and practice in the session.

CoachME Overview

'System Coaching' Training Programs and Workshops

At CoachME we bring our extensive experience and special methodology to a range of Coaching courses and workshops, each one formulated for a specific group of interest or a specific population.

 A. System Coaching  Program towards certification by the International Coaching Federation.

The program plan was approved by the ICF as an ACSTH (Approved Coach Specific Training Hours) program:

Program Framework

120 hours that integrates:

  1. Coaching skills
  2. ICF core competencies
  3. Coaching tools
  4. Ethics
  5. System Thinking model

Requirement for certification:

  1. Personal coaching of 10 hours with a certified coach
  2. Practical training – to coach six clients for a total of 10 hours each, and for two of those clients to be coached under supervision.
  3. Finals project, ethics exam and practical live exam – together each achieving a pass grade of at least 80

B. System Coaching Program for training an organization's internal coaches.

This is intended for companies and organizations interested in having trained coaches on their staff as part of their corporate culture. Possibilities are:

  1. ICF Plus – This is the same training program towards certification by the International Coach Federation as Course A above, with the addition of 10 extra hours for teaching the special skills of coach managers working within organizations.
  2. Coaching skills – This workshop for managers and employees extending 20-40 teaching hours includes coaching skills and a 'system thinking' model for coaching.
  3. Human Resources (HR) coaching – This program is specially structured for people involved with human resources and organizational development. It is set up to train managers and employees to make coaching skills part of their work responsibilities.
    • The program structure covers between 75 - 90 teaching hours which include coaching skills, use of coaching tools and the 'system thinking' model for coaching.
    • Note: All studies towards coaching certification and further studies that are undertaken at the CoachME College will be recognized by the ICF.
  4. Specialized Coaching – CoachME runs special workshops adapted to particular areas such as consultants, educators, managers, sales people and therapists. The course structure comprises 24 teaching hours. The objective is to give these professionals highly adapted coaching skills that they can immediately integrate them into their own businesses.
  5. Personal leadership - CoachME runs a unique workshop for stimulating personal leadership via The System approach. The workshop structure comprises 30 teaching hours directed towards managers and key personnel. The objective is to provide an approach and tools for personal growth within the context of a job and its business unit that is based on our system methodology.
  6. Group Coaching Leaders – This program structure covers 36 hours and is intended for coaches who want to lead coaching groups. The program is recognized by the ICF as Continuing Coaching Education Studies (CCE-36CC).
